The Role

This is an exciting permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our brand-new School, opening in September 2022, and to really make a difference to the lives of our children, young people, and their families. You will aim to deliver the right support at the right time, through assessment and intervention, and equipping families and staff with the skills and resources to work together to help and support children with speech, language, and communication needs.

Dovecote is an Ofsted registered independent special school for pupils aged 5-18 years with ASD (and associated conditions), or/and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), who have been not able to access education and thus their future will start at Dovecote School.

What is required?

  • Have tangible experience supporting and facilitating 1:1 and group therapy to young students between the ages of 5-18 years.
  •  You will follow set models to offer universal, targeted, and specialist support for children, families, and the school workforce, and work with children and young people with EHCPs
  • Work in close partnership with a diverse team of therapy and educational specialists to deliver tailored support that meets the needs of each young person.
  • Support the development and delivery of individualised intervention programmes to help learning and to enable meaningful engagement and participation in activities, social interaction, and relationships.
  • The Therapeutic Team is committed to embedding clinical interventions across all aspects of our students’ home and school routines, ensuring that our students are able to access their learning effectively.
