The Role

Family Liaison and Wellbeing Practitioner (SEN) – Primary and Secondary years.


This is an exciting permanent opportunity for inspiring and dedicated Family Support Worker and with a passion for making a difference to others to our recently Ofsted graded “Outstanding” School, that opened in September 2022. You must have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds and behaviours.


You will work across a range of ages with students who experience multiple social, emotional, and learning disadvantages. The variety of issues covered, and related behaviours ranges from speech and sound disorder, concentration and attention difficulties, significant learning disability, challenging behaviour, and work avoidance behaviours.

Dovecote is an Ofsted registered independent special school for pupils aged 5-18 years with ASD (an associated conditions), or/and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), who have been not able to access education and thus their future will start at Dovecote School.

What is required?

This is a truly unique and exciting opportunity to help shape our school and help create a truly exceptional learning environment, to support and develop our students.

 

  • To develop ways in which to build good relationships with parents and carers. This may include coffee mornings, parent support groups, newsletters or simply being at the school gate. 
  • This role requires flexibility to ensure that a response can be made in times of crisis for the children and families in our schools.
  • To empower parents to take an active role in their child’s social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Support parents regarding a range of issues that are impacting on their ability to parent effectively.
  • Provide a range of activities for parents that encourage them to be safe, healthy, enjoy and achieve economic wellbeing.
  • To monitor and quality assure safeguarding records and chronologies, ensuring that actions are taken and recorded in a timely fashion.
