Coffee House Manager and Baker

Wanted: Chief Cake Baker, Educator and Coffee House Guru!

Are you a baking wizard? Do you love the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning? Have you always wanted to run your own coffee house, whilst also making a difference in young people's lives? Then we’ve got just the job for you!

The Giggling Goat Coffee House at Dovecote Special School, Somerset, is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, cake-loving hero to take the reins. We need someone to bake glorious cakes, keep our coffee house running smoothly, and help our amazing students get work-ready (while maybe even learning the secret to the perfect Victoria sponge).

The Perks:

• Work with the wonderful students at Dovecote, helping them develop their skills (and maybe even teaching them to crack an egg without it ending up on the floor!).

• You will manage and develop a quirky, friendly community café that makes everyone feel at home—locals, WI volunteers, and our very own students.

The Job:

• Bake cakes. Delicious, mouth-watering cakes. Enough said.

• Keep The Giggling Goat running - stock the shelves, serve the regulars, and smile at everyone (even before the first coffee of the day).

• Be a champion of local produce—work with our local farmers and horticultural heroes to make sure everything we serve is fresh and fantastic.

• Support our SEN students—help them learn skills that will set them up for success (you may also become their official taste-tester).

What You’ll Need:

• An oven (okay, we have one, but knowing how to use it is important!).

• A passion for people—especially our wonderful students and our community.

• Some serious cake-baking skills (we won’t say no to your secret brownie recipe!).

• The ability to work magic with a team and always bring out the best in everyone.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 4pm, 41 weeks a year. Enough time for work-life balance—and baking practice at home!

• Interview includes cake tasting!
