The Role

Assistant Headteacher – Redwood River School (SEMH Specialist Provision)

Full-time | Leadership Scale | Permanent

Redwood River School is seeking an experienced and committed Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our independent specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

You will support the Headteacher in leading and managing the school to the highest professional standards, helping to drive strategic improvement while modelling high expectations across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting whole-school development, curriculum oversight and day-to-day organisation
Coordinating assessment and staff cover
Line managing Heads of Faculty and contributing to performance management
Teaching responsibility of up to 40%

This role requires energy, empathy, resilience and a strong commitment to inclusive, pupil-centred practice.
